Beginning sewing with Heidi

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU SIGN UP

   This is a beginner’s class for ages 18+ (separate class for ages 10-17)

   The class fee includes Professor Pincushion’s Beginner Guide to Sewing.

   You must bring a working sewing machine that you know how to operate.

• If you have a machine but don’t know how to operate it, please call Sew Fabulous @ 269-459-1725 and schedule a 1:1 to learn the basics of your machine.
  Fee for this is $25 / ½ hour.
• If you need a machine, stop in at Sew Fabulous and check out all the great machines they have available. When you buy a machine at Sew Fabulous, you receive training on that machine for free.

SESSION 1
   WHAT TO EXPECT

• You will receive a copy of Professor Pincushion’s Guide.
• We will cover the first 4 chapters of Professor Pincushion’s Guide.
• We will make a shopping bag out of an old t-shirt

SESSION 2

• We will cover Chapters 5, 6 & part of 7
• Fabric and Elastic will be provided for you to make a Hair Scrunchie
• We will make a hair scrunchie
• We will learn how to choose, read and understand a pattern
• We will set ourselves up to make a pair of pajama pants in Session 3
• We will discuss what is needed to bring to the next session so we can sew a pair of pajama pants

SESSION 3

   WHAT TO EXPECT

• We will layout and cut our fabric for the pajama pants
• We will sew and finish the pajama pants
