Step away from the hustle and bustle of Holiday activities for a sewing respite at Sew Fabulous. In just 4 hours you'll have created a 48"x60" DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH.
There's a little 'fabriholic' in each of us so we shudder at the thought of getting rid of anything in our treasured stash. Nevertheless, wouldn't you agree we want to use all the fabric in the stash, even though we might consider it a little less appealing than when we first acquired it? This project, DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH, is a perfect outlet for those less desirable fabrics.
Construct a fast & easy quilt block with a pattern that quickly turns into a quilt. The surprise, as if by magic, the unloved fabrics are transformed into a thing of beauty resulting in a cherished memory quilt often renamed as… “hospital quilt,” “camping quilt,” …. (picnic, stadium, etc.). This is a very fun project sure to be repeated!
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO CLASS
• Choose 20 of your least liked fabrics from your stash and cut them in 14" squares. The least matching, the better – just pick your 'least likely to be used' fabrics – prints, patterns, colors – use it!!
• Sewing machine, thread, needles, rotary cutter, pins, clips, snips, scissors (the usual sewing tools)
• 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" Ruler
• 18" Ruler
