COLLAGE QUILTING - THE LAURA HEINE METHOD
In this class you'll learn Laura's method for creating collage art with fabric. On the first day we'll start with preparing our fabrics then learn the technique for tracing and cutting the pieces for the collage quilt. You'll have plenty of time to practice on the first day. Then, you'll have 3 weeks to get the body of your project done before we meet the second time. During the second class, we'll work on the background and discuss finishing - machine quilting anyone can do.
WHAT TO BRING TO DAY 1:
- A Laura Heine collage pattern and fabric for the design. We have several patterns at Sew Fabulous and a few kits. Please come in and check them out.
- All the supplies listed on your pattern:Small iron, if you have one, and an ironing mat.Lunch and/or snack
- Collage Foundation
- Steam-a-Seam 2
- Collage pressing sheet
- Precision Scissors with serrations for fine cutting
- Pencil
- Whatever else is listed
- Lunch and/or snack

| Skill Details: | This is an art technique that doesn't use the sewing machine until it's all done. If you can trace and cut using scissors, you can do this. |
