Job Title: Sales Associate
Part-time - 2-3 days per week and occasional Saturdays 

Job summary:

The Sales Associate (Part-Time) position involves assisting customers with their purchases and offering advice on fabrics, embroidery and quilting techniques. Responsibilities include assisting customers in the store, answering phone inquiries, maintaining the store’s appearance, operating the cash register, restocking inventory, and taking in machines for repair. The role ensures a welcoming and organized shopping experience for all customers.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers with a warm smile, provide advice on fabrics, patterns, and quilting techniques.
• Assist customers in selecting products to suit their needs.
• Process customer transactions accurately using the computer-based cash register.
• Maintain an organized and appealing sales floor.
• Answer the phone and assist customers with their inquiries.
• Cut fabrics accurately for customers as required.
• Check in machines from customers for repairs - this involves filling out a paper form as well as details in the computer.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products offered in the store.
• Ensure a welcoming, organized, and visually appealing sales floor.

• Help with stocking, organizing, and managing inventory to keep the store well-maintained.
• Restock product shelves regularly to ensure product availability.
• Store maintenance
• Keep fabrics, cutting tables, and product shelves clean, organized, and tidy.
• Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the store.
• Tidy displays and maintain a pleasant shopping environment.
• May be asked to work extra days/time when we need to take store inventory.

• A love for quilting or sewing is valuable
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including an approachable, friendly and helpful demeanor.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Comfortable with the use of a computer
• Physically able to meet the requirements of assisting customers, stocking shelves and moving machines
• Must be punctual and dependable
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Be open to learning new things and keep up with knowledge of the quilting industry
